They are on Monday, 6th November 2006 but are shown on Tuesday, 7th November 2006 on ITV1 at 9pm. Fans time!!! MUSIC fans are in for a festive treat after organisers today revealed a host of top chart names who will be performing at Birmingham's official Christmas lights switch-on. Pop group McFly, The Ordinary Boys, Channel 4's Rock School star Lil Chris, and home-grown talent Ocean Colour Scene will be among eight acts performing at Millennium Point on Saturday, November 11 2006. Former boy band Blue star Simon Webbe, who has had a top-selling album, with three hit singles and is about to release his second album, has been signed up to press the button and switch on the lights. The four-and-a-half-hour concert, which is free, kicks-off at 3pm and culminates with the official switching on of the lights at 7.30pm, having been organised by Birmingham City Council and the Pallasades shopping centre. It includes a firework finale and a funfair, as well as entertainment from BRMB's breakfast show presenters Elliott Webb and Caroline Martin. Councillor Ray Hassell, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture, said Christmas is a time for families and children. Therefore we are producing one of the best packages of family-friendly Christmas events and activities anywhere in the UK. We want to give the people of Birmingham a Christmas they'll remember for years to come. McFLY have a litter of puppies named after them as they announce their role as Guiding Stars for the Guide Dogs charity. The newly born golden retriever pups have been named Danny, Dougie, Harry and Tom and are part of a 4700 strong working dog community in the UK who help blind and partially sighted people. As Guiding Stars, McFLY will help the charity to educate young people about the important work of guide dogs, as they follow the progress of their namesake pups through training and on to their vitally important careers ahead. Tom said: I love dogs, and so its just awesome to have a litter named after our band!
